X-ONE sp. z o.o. executes a project entitled „Development of a multi-lens and modular system for recording video and audio in VR technology with advanced distortion correction and quality optimization, used for broadcasting of i. a. cultural and sports events.”, under the European Funds for Smart Economy Programme, SMART Path Activity (call no.: FENG.01.01-IP.02-001/23 – R&D module)

 

Description:

The project involves the implementation of an R&D module. As part of the module, R&D works will be carried out with the aim to develop an innovative multi-lens and modular system for video and audio recording in VR technology with advanced distortion correction and quality optimization, used for broadcasting of inter alia cultural and sports events. The tool resulting will be a complete technology consisting of hardware, image and sound algorithms and embedded software necessary for its operation. The competitive advantage of the solution resulting from the work carried out will arise, among other things, from the use of:

  • multi-lens recording device,

  • laser image distortion correction system,

  • ambisonic sound recording system technology using directional microphones and room acoustic correction,

  • modern CMOS sensors.

The project’s result will primarily be addressed to entities involved in organizing cultural and sports events and to artists.

Project Goal:

The goal of the project is to carry out a series of logically planned R&D works to develop complementary hardware and software solutions that compose a system for video and audio recording in VR technology with advanced distortion correction and quality optimization, used for broadcasting of, amongst others, cultural and sports events.

Result – the novel product will have the following innovative features:

  1. Multi-lens image capture device with a minimum of 220 degrees designed for display in VR glasses.
  2. High image resolution, at least 4200×2200 pixels, adapted to the capabilities of modern VR glasses.
  3. Interchangeable lenses and a laser image distortion correction system, allowing the operator to calibrate the lenses before recording.
  4. State-of-the-art CMOS sensors with increased light sensitivity and large area, providing better image dynamics in difficult lighting conditions.
  5. Ambisonic sound recording system, which creates a three-dimensional music scene around the listener, moving along with the movements of their head.
